Inside the abandoned Unit 506 above: collapsed ceiling & rotted, moldy roof
This is Unit 506 — the vacant, abandoned unit directly above 502, and the source of the water and mold coming into the home below. Its ceiling has collapsed onto the bed, the roof framing above is rotted black, and mushrooms and black mold are growing on it — proof the water has been coming in for a very long time. The unit has been left unmaintained. This is what the building's roof neglect looks like up close — and exactly why the roof replacement on Wednesday's vote can't wait. Photos are from inside 506.

Roof leak & mold from the abandoned Unit 506 above
The unit above mine — Unit 506 — has been vacant and abandoned for a long time, and the roof above it leaks. Water and mold have been coming down into the home below for months, damaging the room and spreading. It's gotten bad enough to affect our health, and a family member had to move out because of it. The unit has been left unmaintained. It's gotten noticeably worse since the storm a few days ago. I'm asking the HOA to repair the roof and deal with the abandoned unit before the damage reaches more homes. This is exactly what Wednesday's roof vote needs to fix.
