This is an independent, resident-run community site for Callaghan Place — it is not the official HOA or its management company. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Please read it before you post.
Your posts are public
The whole point of this site is a shared, public record. Anything you post — an issue report, a discussion thread or reply, a poll, or an event — is visible to anyone who visits the site. No account or password is needed to read it.
When you create a post, we save and publicly display the name or nickname you type, the unit number you enter (if any), the category, title and details, any photos you attach, and the date and time you posted.
- Your name/nickname and unit are optional and are typed by you. If you leave the name blank, your post shows as “A neighbor.” You decide how much to identify yourself.
- Because posts become part of a shared record your neighbors rely on, treat anything you write or photograph as visible to the whole community. Do not include anything you would not want your neighbors — or the public — to see.
What we collect
- What you post. The name/nickname, unit, category, title, details, and photos described above.
- Reactions and votes. If you tap “Same here” on an issue, vote in a poll, or RSVP to an event, we record it so each person counts once. To do this, the site creates an anonymous session for your device.
- Preferences. Small cookies remember your language and light/dark theme choices.
- Optional resident account. If you choose to sign in with an invite code, we use your email address only to send a one-tap magic sign-in link. Most people never need an account — you can read and post without one.
- Anonymous visit statistics. We use a privacy-respecting, self-hosted analytics tool (Umami) to count visits — for example, which pages are viewed and the general device type. It uses no cookies, does not identify you personally, and does not follow you across other websites.
Where your information is stored
Your posts and the site’s data are kept in a secure hosted database (Supabase), and the site runs on Cloudflare. Any photos you attach are stored in that same hosted system. These providers process the data only to operate the site.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
- We do not share your information with third parties for advertising.
- We are not the HOA or its management: posting here does not send anything to the Association, and management does not receive your posts through this site.
Removing or changing a post
You can ask to have a post taken down. The fastest way is the “Report” link on the post itself — it flags the post for the volunteers who moderate the site, who can hide or remove it. You can also reach the people who run the site (see below). Since posts are part of a shared public record, tell us which post so we can find it.
Please note that copies may briefly remain in backups, or in screenshots other people have already taken, after a post is removed — we cannot control anything already saved or shared elsewhere.
Children
This site is meant for the adult residents of the building and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Links to other services
The site links to outside services — such as the management company’s email or phone, a maps link, or a PDF document. When you use those, the privacy practices of those companies apply, not this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
